Admitting you need help for alcoholism IS hard to do

Admitting that you need alcohol treatment is hard to do. But it’s the most important confession you’ll ever make. Alcohol treatment programs must invariably begin with a personal choice, and that personal choice can only come after an alcoholic has recognized the truth about himself and his dependency. Before you can get better in an alcohol treatment center, you’re going to have to recognize that you need help. Short of that, you can’t ever expect to get sober for good.

Alcoholism is devastating disease—that should go without saying. The only upside is that alcohol treatment really can solve the problem, provided that you’re willing to take the necessary steps on the road to recovery. The bottom line here is that your alcohol treatment experience will change your life, if you let it. You owe it to yourself and the people who care about you to finally start learning the truth on your own terms.
