An addiction treatment center isn’t the only actor in the addiction recovery process. Addiction treatment centers are important, of course; no one’s disputing that. A private addiction treatment facility, in fact, is vital to addiction treatment itself…but that doesn’t mean the whole story of addiction treatment can be told entirely in the context of an addiction treatment program. On the contrary, addiction recovery continues long after patients leave addiction treatment center, in the sober living facilities and 12-step support groups that provide continuing care to addiction treatment graduates. Yes, luxury addiction treatment centers in Los Angeles and Malibu are important. But so is everything that comes after them.

The most successful California addiction treatment center programs, in this sense, are those which account for the full scope of the healing process. Addiction treatment programs that abandon their graduates can’t expect to promote lasting sobriety. Addiction treatment centers that don’t plan for the long run can’t be successful over the long run. Addiction treatment facilities that work…that help patients rediscover the world as they once knew it…are and can only be those which aim to help drug addicts get healed forever. If you or someone you care about is a victim of addiction abuse, that’s the only goal that could ever be worth pursuing.
