Successful Rehab Centers are hardly a dime a dozen
Successful rehab centers are hardly a dime a dozen. Alcohol and drug rehabs, of course, aren’t exactly in short supply these days; run “drug rehabs” through a Google search and you’ll end up with an interminable list of facilities, all of them advertising this or that “guaranteed” rehab plan. But not all rehab centers were created equal. Drug rehabs that work, in fact, are and can only be rehabs that address rehab patients on a case-by-case basis. Short of that, no drug rehab program can help you get where you need to go.
Remember, rehabs are only as competent as the individuals who staff them. Alcohol or drug rehabs aren’t run by machines, after all; they’re run by real people, whose understanding of and empathy for each individual patient is vital to the success or failure of the rehab programs they oversee. Drug rehabs can’t work if they’re wanting for adept caretakers. The bottom line, you might say, has got to be a human one.
The rub here is that your search for a rehab center should ultimately be conducted on interpersonal terms. Rehabs staffed by competent, compassionate individuals can help their patients get better. Rehabilitation centers that aren’t, can’t. For your own sake, don’t force yourself to learn that lesson the hard way.
