The Secret of Successful Drug Rehabs
Drug rehabs are only as successful as their patients allow them to be. That might seem counterintuitive, given how much emphasis people put on the central importance of drug rehabs in the healing process…but it’s the truth. Drug rehabs and drug rehab programs are and must be driven by patients: by recovering addicts who are ultimately responsible for their own healing. That’s just the way drug rehab works.
Drug rehabs, of course, are hardly free of struggle, or of hardship. Drug rehabs, as should perhaps be expected, are most successful when patients are willing to sacrifice to make sobriety real; that rehab patient who gets better is more often than not the one who pledges himself to the fight, regardless of the obstacles encountered along the way. With so much to lose, after all, no rehab patient can afford not win.
It bears noting here too that every journey has got to start with a first step. Drug rehabs can’t do anything for patients who don’t seek out drug treatment. If you or someone you care about is a victim of addiction, you’ve got to get help now, today. Some things, after all, are too important to leave until tomorrow.
